New Addition: Panda Bear!

Today I met the Panda, the new Ragdoll kitten mom adopted. He is probably my favorite cat in the world. Panda has been here a week now, and is loving all the other animals. He’s joined our circus!

Panda was extremely fun to photograph. Pets are defiantly something I enjoy taking pictures of. – It’s wonderful to be home on this beautiful Easter weekend.

In Store this Weekend!

Well, I finally ordered some prints to put in a store! I always grew up visiting Ken’s store; Treasured Moments, and he’s so kindly allowed me to display my business cards and a few photos in his store. I chose three, two of which will be sold together. Even if you don’t want to buy them, go check them out 🙂 [For other photos visit my Gallery, if you would like a certain print – contact me]

On another note, I am home this Easter weekend and free for doing photo sessions, I have one booked already… however I have lots of time on my hands. Send a message my way if you’re interested. Weather is suppose to be great. (I’m pretty cheap ;))

Black & White Kitties!

I was flipping through some photos, and realized I have a lot of animal (pet) photos. I know I share them quite a bit, but heyyyyyy why not share some more. IN BLACK & WHITE my favorite.  There are sure to be many more blogs about my animals or others.. Especially now that my mom has a new kitten. So, hopefully you don’t mind.

Pandora: My landlords kitty came to stay the night and hang out in my bathroom closet for the remaining day!

Aslan: This big lioness belongs to my Aunt!

Miss Pickle: Trying to open gifts.

Pablo: As a baby, and actually staying still for a moment.

&well, although she’s not a kitty-cat I can’t forget to add Joey: she’s like a cat sometimes:

Flashback:Oct, Musquodoboit Harbour!

This past October, we took a trip to Musquodoboit Harbour with most of Dillan’s family, to remember someone very special to them. – whom I never had the chance to meet. We got lucky and the sun was shining bright. The smallest row boat with a motor I ever seen, took us across the water.

The place was beautiful. The day was great and we ended with bowling and dinner food.

Meet Gemma, she’s part of the family too!

I thought these photos were hilarious – therefore I am posting them!

Spring, is that you?

Beautiful day, beautiful day… beautiful day.

It went up to 26° today… me and my mini family walked to Halifax across the bridge, sat in the Commons, Joey played and met many new friends. Once we got back home Dillan’s sister, Jess and her fiance picked us up for a hike. – by the time we were back home, I was beat… (am beat).

I took some photos on our walk today. I can’t wait until everything starts blooming…

I hope you all had a lovely day like we did, if not.. I’m sure one will come your way soon.

walking across the MacDonald Bridge to Halifax!

Row of trees…

the beauty of a tree

A tree growing out of the ground is as wonderful today as it ever was. It does not need to adopt new and startling methods.

One of the many neat old-homes in downtown Halifax!

These lobster straps have been sitting under our deck since me moved in… There happens to be a lot of “Maritime” type things all over are yard- including buoy(s) and wooden buckets.

Good evening, Halifax 🙂

Trip to the Park!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day, today. Joey, Dillan and I ventured downtown to to the park! We sat in the sun, drank hot chocolate, met some new dog friends and Joey played with her red ball all around the park. — &then on the way home Joey went down the kids slide 3 times, yes… my dog went down the slide.

Besides playing with Joey I took a couple of photos:

A week with the “family”

I spent the last week and three days at home in Antigonish. Dillan flew to Fort Mac for a show the past weekend, so I decided to go for a longer than anticipated visit home. (I’m not one who likes to be alone often). It was a fairly relaxed time, I didn’t do much ‘as usual’ but it was nice to be home. I was with all our crazy animals for the most part. — My mom wanted photos of her ragdoll cat Pablo.. so I had some quality time trying to take photos of him. Pablo does not like to stay still &would prefer to play than pose for a photograph. – which is understandable as he’s still a kitten. We got quite a few photos that turned out and mom liked.. I’m only going to show 2 or 3 on here..

Also.. was photographing my moms sheltie Sky, she however is hyperactive and never stays still — never!! Sky gets excited when any attention is directed towards her. There was Joey, and Bear, too! – we can’t forget them. Here are a couple photos of my animal family… who are oh so lovely and full of personality!

An Arts Campaign

Today a girl I went to highschool with sent me a direct message on Twitter asking if I would take photos of her around the STFX Campus, as she’s running for Councillor for the Arts program. Her name is Emily Ives and is finishing her 3rd year at St.Francis Xavier University… I’m sure Emily will go on to do great things.

Naturally I was just sitting around my moms home, and said “what the hay, why not”.. Good practice for portraits, and it would help keep me occupied. Around 2pm this afternoon I met Emily at the Bloomfield Center.. & we ventured around campus. We only took about 25 shots, but she wasn’t too fussy. Here are some of them:

B&W Wall Fun!

OK! I know it’s been a little bit since my last post.. and it is because I didn’t have new photos to post. – a few times here I’d go through older photos and put up a blog about them, however, I want to start using newer photographs.

A couple weekends ago I came home for a visit.. some friends and I drank, &well since I had a new lens pictures were taken. I feel they turned out pretty cool.. – as I don’t have a backdrop yet.. we just use the plain wall in the apartment. I’m impressed with these, because we were just fooling around and they turned out great. (IMO) the photos are really bright.. that is something I’ll have to work on.

I’m home again for the week.. I plan on getting lots of photos’ taken in that time.

Here are some of the pictures we took:

Late Evening Nature Blogging!

It’s late.. well, relatively.. it’s about 1AM. I’m not feeling sleep right now, so I thought I would write a blog.

I have been going through all my photographs lately.. there are a lot I’ve neglected. I came across a quite a few nature shots, figured I would share a small portion of those next. I really love the out doors.. my family is from the country, so maybe that is why. I have always been drawn to animals, flowers, trees and water.. I think nature is beautiful, and what happens daily is incredible. Throughout the next while I’m sure I will be posting more photos’ of nature and landscapes.. I’m just waiting on our car to get up and running again.. then let the photo adventures begin.

I’ll write underneath the photograph(s) to say where they are taken. I hope you all had a lovely day!

This photo was taken on our long drive through NewBrunswick for a music gig this past summer. These flowers were everywhere. — we stopped on the side of the road to stretch our legs, and the flower was just growing there by itself.

We were walking on paths through the yard of my boyfriends family home one summer in Monastery, Nova Scotia. There are a few of these trees, I love their white flowers. There is a huge one on the lawn that I can’t wait to watch bloom this spring &sit under this upcoming summer!

SQUIRREL! This little fella came running towards me when I called to him in Montreal, QC. I thought it was amazing as squirrels’ tend to skittish and shy in Nova Scotia! It was a great moment in my life, as I never thought a squirrel would willingly want to make friends with us.

Friendly hellos! Montreal, QC

Sweet dreams wonderful friends and fellow bloggers..
